More Mosquito Spraying In Frisco

The City of Frisco will spray for mosquitoes August 20 and 21 after receiving confirmation that another mosquito pool tested ‘positive’ for West Nile virus (WNV).

Weather permitting, spraying will start at 9 p.m. Saturday and continue through 6 a.m. Sunday. Spraying will resume at 9 p.m. Sunday and continue through 6 a.m. Monday.

A city contractor will target the Starwood neighborhood by ground spraying.

Today’s confirmations bring the number of ‘positive’ mosquito pools in Frisco this summer to 25. No human cases are confirmed here.

The City of Frisco supports four precautionary habits promoted by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In accordance with its plan, Frisco began testing for mosquitoes May 1.

For more information on the city’s Mosquito Surveillance and Response Plan, visit www.Friscotexas.gov/Mosquitoes or contact the City of Frisco’s Health & Food Safety Division at 972-292-5304.

My daughter and friends have gotten into the hammocking. The mosquitos really scares me with this... Luckily they got busy and it got hot... Plus a couple of girls in an area with trees isn't exactly safe.. Luckily they found somewhere I consider safer.

The kids also did several bonfires. I think the heat kept them away. DD wells up pretty good with any kinds of bite
