Girl Scouts - 100 Years Of Selling Cookies

..And they've rolled out two new cookies to celebrate! Emoticon

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has announced the start of the 2017 cookie season, which marks the 100th year of the first known sale of cookies by Girl Scouts.

To commemorate this banner year for the organization and celebrate how the cookie program powers amazing experiences for Girl Scouts year-round, the highly anticipated Girl Scout S’mores™ cookies are now available, joining classics like Thin Mints® and Trefoils®/Shortbread.

It blew my mind last year to learn there are 2 different bakeries used by Girl Scouts and they even have different cookies and the popular ones have different names. In Frisco we get Samoas (crunchier & less caramel so less sweet) and in Fort Worth they have Caramel Delights (softer & more caramel so sweeter) but both yummy. The thin mints are a little softer in Frisco and in Forth Worth they're crunchier because they're packed in foil wrapping. Here's a map (it may be worth the drive to try the other bakery) www.lifehacker.com/t he-differences-among -girl-scout-cookies- based-on-where-

I'm going to have to buy this new one at work in Fort Worth and make sure to have cash at Kroger in Frisco to compare to see the difference between the S'mores

It's been a long time since I was called a kid @Frisco95 lol. I LOVE Thin Mints!
Cookie sales start this Friday so please support these young ladies.

Also, please note that you can buy some and donate them to our military troops! That's also a great way for business owners to help out as well. Just let the young lady know you'd like to donate XX to the troops.

You can do it that way too @Frisco95 that way you know he'll get exactly what he wants. The program the Girls Scout use is called Troops to Troops. You just tell the young lady you want to make a Troop to Troop donation, then pay for however many boxes you want. The sales get credited to the young lady and the GSA sends the cookies out to the troops.

The first picture are the other Girl Scouts bakery's cookies (not in Collin or Denton County). If anyone is in the Fort Worth area or further west I would recommend buying them to try. The new S'mores cookie in our area is like a sandwich of graham crackers with the chocolate and marshmallow inside, but the other has chocolate covered graham cracker with creme icing (second picture). I think the Lemondes are amazing.

Here's the locator and description of cookies: www.girlscouts.org/m eetthecookies

S'mores are a HUUUUGGGEEEEE hit. So much so they are sold out at the bakery. Since it was as new product, there was limited production because they didn't know if they would sale.
