Traffic News: Hickory St. Closed East of Preston Rd. Starting Monday Morning, August 28TRAFFIC ADVISORY:(August 25, 2023) Hickory St. will be closed east of Preston Rd. starting Monday morning, August 28, so that additional utilities can be extended under the road. The road is expected to remain closed for three weeks and will reopen by September 18.During this closure no traffic will be allowed on the first block of Hickory St. east of Preston Rd. Hutson Dr. should be used as an alternate route. Drivers in the Meadows of Preston neighborhood on the east end of Hickory St. can use Peacock Ln. and Towne Bridge to reach Hutson Dr. Drivers in the Queens Gate and Preston Hutson neighborhoods can use Sitka St. and False Pass Dr. to reach Hutson Dr. Detour signs will be posted. Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternate route in advance.
