Frisco PD Warns Residents About Phone Scammers Demanding Prepaid Cards

Loading Image...

Phone scammers are trying to pull a fast one by calling residents, pretending to be with Frisco PD or law enforcement, and saying that you have a subpoena, have a warrant, will be arrested, etc. They will then ask you to "take care" of it by paying with a prepaid or gift card and may even leave a voicemail asking you to call them back. Don't fall for it!

-Never give out your personal information over the phone or email if you don't know the recipient.
-Never provide any form of payment or transfer money to resolve an issue this way.
-ALWAYS call us if you have any doubt about the identity of a caller claiming to be with law enforcement.
