Stories from the Archives

Event Details:

Stories from the Archives invites visitors into a world where everyday objects become extraordinary through the power of storytelling. Inspired by the Significant Objects Project, the exhibition pairs overlooked items from the Frisco Heritage Center archives with fictional stories written by community participants from UNT Frisco, The Writer’s Guild of Texas, and Play Frisco.

Instead of documenting real history, the writers imagine new narratives that reshape how we see forgotten things. Ordinary trinkets become relics of adventure, emotion, and mystery, revealing how creativity and perspective can transform even the simplest objects.

In a world of constant consumption, where things are often replaced and forgotten, this exhibition encourages visitors to reconsider what gives an object meaning. Through imaginative stories created by members of the Frisco community, these items are reimagined with new history, feeling, and value. Together, the transformed objects highlight how storytelling preserves memory, creates significance, and connects us to one another.

Experience the power of stories from June 16 through September 30 in the Frisco Heritage Center Theater.
