Good Job Frisco PD! 24 Year Cold Case Murder Arrest

Frisco Police say they have arrested 50-year-old Jason Honrud of Waxahachie around 7:00 a.m. on June 24, 2026, on a murder warrant connected to the 2002 killing of Plano resident Frank Weiss.

Weiss was found dead near Lake Lewisville, inside Frisco city limits. The cold case is still under investigation.

@Jjj: That's amazing and awesome!!! I personally know of a cold case that is almost 37 years and still no leads. Offers hope but still very heartbreaking.

I think the wife and an accomplice were arrested in April. IIUC they were persons of interest back then. The police just didn't have enough evidence to make the case.

So they think they got away with it. Then when his wife was arrested, it should be the cue to change name, learn Chinese and move to China.
