5th Street Closed between Main and Elm streets starting Tuesday, January 21
(January 17, 2025) 5th Street will be closed between Main and Elm streets starting Tuesday, January 21, for new utility installation and road construction. The street will close at 9 a.m. and remain closed for a month. The road is expected to reopen February 21. Detours around this closure are described below and shown in the map. (see map above). Detour signs will be posted.
Northbound traffic on 5th St. will be detoured east onto Elm St. and then north on South County Rd. to reach Main St.
Westbound traffic on Main St. wanting to turn south onto 5th St. should continue straight on Main St. and then will be detoured south on 3rd St. and then east on Elm St. to return to 5th St.
Eastbound traffic on Main St. wanting to turn south onto 5th St. should continue straight on Main St. and then will be detoured south on South County Rd. and then west on Elm St. to return to 5th St.
