The Cycle and Soak Method: Water Your Landscape Wisely

From The Town Of Prosper:

Have you ever heard of the “Cycle and Soak Method” for watering your landscape? This method significantly reduces water run-off. This technique involves multiple watering cycles for each station, with 30 to 60 minutes between cycles to allow the water to penetrate the soil.

-The first cycle breaks the surface tension and saturates the top layer of the soil.
- The second cycle allows water to infiltrate the soil more efficiently and deeply.
- A third, and sometimes a fourth, cycle can be advantageous on slopes or if run-off occurs after just a few minutes of sprinkler operation.

Thank you for posting such a logical method for watering!
