Frisco 'Furry' Gets 20 Years in Federal Prison for Child Exploitation
A 37-year-old Frisco man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after admitting he transported a minor from Frisco to an Atlanta furry convention, where prosecutors said he sexually abused the child.
Joseph Ray Robertson pleaded guilty to transporting a minor for sexual exploitation and will also face lifetime supervised release after completing his prison sentence.
According to federal prosecutors, Robertson took the child to the convention in May 2024, purchased sexual devices there and commissioned explicit artwork involving his costumed furry persona and the minor.
The case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Justice Department initiative targeting child sexual exploitation and abuse.
