Frisco ISD Budget Update

Frisco ISD says it has saved taxpayers more than $152.2 million in future interest costs after refinancing debt three times since August 2025. The district's proposed Debt Service Fund would also keep the current debt service tax rate in place.

The proposed 2026-27 budget includes a 2% raise for all employees, with central administration raises capped at $2,000. Special education staff would also see targeted stipend increases, including larger stipends for SAIL, SBS, SLC, centralized classroom, resource and inclusion teachers, plus an additional hourly increase for special education paraprofessionals.

District officials say the budget is nearly balanced, but declining enrollment remains a major financial challenge. The Child Nutrition Fund is also being adjusted because of lower participation.

Residents will have a chance to weigh in at a public hearing during the June 8 Board meeting. Formal budget adoption is expected in mid-June.

I am glad to see our educators are receiving raises. However I am not sure these raises will allow them to keep up with increased costs of living.
