Frisco Mother Arrested and Held on $1.5 Million Bond After Child Welfare Check

A Frisco woman is being held on a $1.5 million bond after police investigating reports of possible child abuse and neglect arrested her on two felony charges.

Frisco police arrested 49-year-old Mary Ann Burton after officers conducted a welfare check at a home near the 12000 block of Bethel Drive.

Police said officers had received reports of possible neglect and abuse involving a child. During the welfare check, investigators said they found evidence that led them to obtain warrants for Burton's arrest.

Burton was charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury and child endangerment. She was subsequently booked into the Collin County jail.

Police have identified Burton as the child's mother but have released very few other details about the case. Authorities have not disclosed the child's age, condition or the circumstances surrounding the alleged injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Burton have not been proven in court.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010.
