Frisco Police Investigate Bullet that Struck School
(March 27, 2025) The Frisco Police Department is currently investigating a bullet that struck a school.
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, at approximately 9:28 a.m., a Frisco Police Officer assigned to the School Resource Officer Unit responded to a suspicious circumstance at Hosp Elementary, located at 5050 Lone Star Ranch Parkway.
Upon arrival, the officer observed a classroom window had been shattered by an unknown object and fragments believed to belong to a bullet were later discovered. No injuries were reported, and out of an abundance of caution, students were dismissed early. Frisco Detectives responded to the school to look into the matter, and evidence at the scene was documented and collected by FPD’s Crime Scene Unit.
Upon initial investigation, Detectives located the source of the bullet and believe the act was not intentional. There is no evidence to suggest that the school was targeted, nor is there a threat to the public, and students are safe to return to campus. The incident is still under investigation and upon completion, the matter will be referred to the Denton County District Attorney’s Office.
The Frisco Police Department and Frisco Independent School District have a longstanding partnership that is committed to the safety of our schools. FPD personnel worked closely with FISD staff to coordinate the safe dismissal of students this morning, and the cooperation and patience of parents during that time was very much appreciated.
No further information will be released at this time.
