Frisco Police Investigate Aggravated Assault, Suspect in Custody

(June 9, 2025) FRISCO, TX – The Frisco Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault, and the suspect is in custody.

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, at approximately 10:58 p.m., Frisco Police Officers responded to the Islamic Center of Frisco (ICF), located at 11137 Frisco Street, after callers to Dispatch reported that a person at the location had been stabbed. They were also able to provide a description of the suspect, who was still at large.

Given the description provided, officers arrived on scene and quickly detained the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Malik Davis. As Davis was taken into custody, other officers went to render aid to the victim, who had large lacerations to his head and one of his hands.

The initial investigation by officers found that the victim, who is a uniformed security guard at the mosque, was praying inside when Davis approached him from behind. In an unprovoked manner, Davis then struck him multiple times with a machete. During the struggle, Davis took possession of the victim’s firearm but later ditched it before being confronted by officers outside.

The victim, who is not being identified, was later transported by Frisco Fire to a local hospital, where he was treated and subsequently released. Davis was transported to the Frisco Holding Facility, where he was charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Security Officer (1st degree felony) and Theft of a Firearm (2nd degree felony). He was later transported to the Collin County Jail, and total bond for the charges is $60,000. The victim’s firearm was recovered at the scene.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, but nothing suggests that this is a hate crime. Davis was known to the mosque community and had been a regular attendee for the last several months. Anyone with related information is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department’s non-emergency number (972-292-6010) or submit a tip using Tip411 (text FRISCOPD + the tip to 847411).

No other information will be released at this time.

Clearly he poses a danger to society shouldn't the bond be $2,000,000 at the minimum.
