Hearing Dates Set For Convicted Murderer Karmelo Anthony
Karmelo Anthony, convicted of the murder of Austin Metcalf in Frisco, will have hearings on Aug 19th and 20th, 2026 to determine key issues to bring the case back to the courts.
On August 19th will be a hearing seeking to remove Judge Roach from trial proceedings.
On August 20th will be a hearing seeking a new trial.
Anthony was found guilty of murdering 17 year old Austin Metcalfe at a Frisco track meet in Frisco. Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Anthony's lawyers argue that there were constitutional and legal errors in the case, and that the current Judge cannot be a fair judge in the case. The Collin County District Attorney's Office disputes these claims.
Both hearings are expected to be open to the public.
