Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Gun Discovery in Prosper

On November 19th, 2024, a Prosper Police Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the 4800 block of W. University Drive for an equipment violation. While speaking with the occupants (non-residents) of the vehicle, one of the occupants admitted to having marijuana and a handgun under their seat. Another occupant then admitted to having methamphetamine in their possession. At this point, the vehicle's occupants were detained, and the vehicle was searched. Officers recovered a small amount of methamphetamine, some marijuana, and a Glock handgun. One of the occupants was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B
