Town Partners with Organizations to Offer Cooking Oil Recycling

The Town of Prosper, in partnership with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Wastewater and Treatment Education Roundtable, and American BioSource, is offering a convenient drop-off for used cooking oil, which will be recycled into biodiesel or biogas. This effort helps reduce waste and supports cleaner fuel sources. After deep-frying food, let the used oil cool. Then, pour it into a rigid plastic container with a screw-top lid (consider reusing the original container) and bring it to our Public Works Service Center.
Drop-offs are available on Saturdays only, from 8 a.m. to noon, at 601 W. 5th St.
The program runs from Nov. 23 through Jan. 4, excluding Nov. 30 and Dec. 28 for the holidays. This Holiday Grease Roundup makes it easy to recycle while helping the environment.
