Get "hooked" on fishing at Trick-A-Trout, our FREE annual kid fish event! This is a great opportunity for Frisco families to introduce children to the sport of fishing. The lake, located at Warren Sports Complex, will be stocked with approximately 4,500 rainbow trout (9 to 12 inches long) from Texas Parks and Wildlife's Neighborhood Fishin' Program.
Reel-y Important Event Information

Trick-A-Trout is a kid fish event and is open exclusively to anglers ages 16 and younger. Adults may assist their children, but should refrain from fishing until after the children's event concludes at 11 a.m. After the event, the general public is invited to continue fishing until the fish stop biting!

Children ages 16 years and younger do not require a Texas fishing license.
Adults ages 17 and older are required by law to posses a valid Texas fishing license. Licenses can be purchased online or locally at sporting goods stores.
Per Texas Parks and Wildlife Regulations, the daily bag limit for rainbow trout is five fish per person. Remember, failure to follow state regulations may result in a fishing violation.
Participants should bring their own fishing gear and bait (not provided on-site).
Bringing snacks, drinks and chairs is highly recommended.
Restrooms are available at Warren Sports Complex.
This event is rain or shine. Check the forecast and arrive prepared for the weather!

Tips for Tackling Trout Fishing

Use a lightweight line (4 to 6 pound test), small hooks and small sinkers.
Bait can include live worms, mini-marshmallows, whole kernel corn, hard cheeses, salmon eggs, PowerBait®, or small artificial lures.
