Guilty: 40 Years, No Parole! Frisco Area Child Predator Sentenced

Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that a jury has sentenced William Hasley, 42, of Saline, Louisiana, to 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole for the continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Case Background:

The abuse occurred when the victim was just seven years old and living in Frisco, Texas. Hasley, who was known to the child and had regular access, exploited that trust to sexually abuse them over a period of months. Years later, at the age of 15, the victim confided in a friend about the abuse. That friend reported it to Child Protective Services, triggering an investigation.

Detective Nessa McFarland of the Frisco Police Department led the case. The victim, living in another state at the time of the report, provided a detailed account of the abuse during a forensic interview, which corroborated the evidence against Hasley.

Verdict and Sentence:

The jury found Hasley guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, a first-degree felony that mandates a sentence without parole. During the punishment phase of the trial, jurors also learned of Hasley’s prior felony conviction and 10-year prison sentence for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. The jury assessed his punishment at 40 years in prison.

Justice for Victims and the Community: DA Greg Willis reflected on the importance of the verdict. “This child suffered terrible abuse from someone they should have been able to trust. Because of their bravery, the friend who spoke up, and the hard work of law enforcement and our prosecutors, justice has been served. This verdict makes one thing clear: no child will be ignored, and no abuser will get away with it in Collin County.”

The DA’s office encourages anyone aware of abuse to report it. Resources and support are available for victims and families through organizations such as The Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center and The Turning Point. To make a report on behalf of someone who has been the victim of child abuse, please contact Child Protective Services’ Texas Abuse Hotline at 1-800-252-5400 or txabusehotline.org.
