In April and May of 2024, a wave of thefts and burglaries struck Collin and Hunt Counties. Investigator Tristan Varvil of the Collin County Sheriff's Office McKinney, Texas linked them all to Mike Stoker, a repeat offender with a history of felony convictions.
In May 2024, deputies conducting surveillance caught Stoker in the act—using a stolen truck to yank an ATM from a convenience store. Stoker fled, but his accomplice was arrested. Based on information from the arrest, investigators immediately secured and executed a search warrant at Stoker’s residence.Inside, Investigator Robert Merritt discovered over 70 grams of meth locked in a nightstand, along with scales, empty baggies, and prepped doses for distribution—clear evidence of drug trafficking. McKinney Police Department Narcotics Detective Joe Arp, a veteran in drug enforcement, testified that Stoker possessed over 280 doses of meth—far beyond personal use.
