Main Street Traffic Switch in Downtown Frisco Starts May 16 at 9 a.m.Main Street Traffic Switch in downtown Frisco starts May 16 at 9 a.m.(May 14, 2025) Beginning on Friday, May 16, traffic patterns on Main Street will change. Starting at 9 a.m., traffic will shift between 1st and 6th streets and travel along the new pavement on the south side of Main Street. See above map.Westbound traffic will be shifted to the south side of the road west of 6th Street and will shift back to the right side of the median at 1st Street. Eastbound traffic will continue straight into the new pavement at 1st Street but will shift to the north side of the road west of 6th Street and then back to the right side of the median at North County Road.When this traffic switch occurs, 5th Street will reopen south of Main Street. However, a section of 5th Street just north of Main Street will be closed for about three weeks. Drivers who normally use 5th Street from the north should use 3rd Street or 6th Street as alternate routes to Main Street during this time. Traffic will remain in this configuration through the end of the year. This switch will also allow the old pavement on the north side of the road to be removed and repaved. Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternate route in advance. Drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate road closures.
