5th St. Closed at Main St. for 24 Hours Starting May 30, 2025 at 12 p.m.5th St. Closed at Main St. for 24 Hours Starting May 30, 2025 at 12 p.m.(May 30, 2025) As part of the Main St. reconstruction project, crews will close 5th St. and adjust traffic patterns on Main St. today at 12 p.m. for an emergency pavement repair. The closure will last 24 hours. Specifically, 5th St. will be closed both north and south of Main St. The point where two-way traffic on Main St. shifts from the south to the north side of the road will temporarily move from east of 5th Street to west of 5th St. See attached map (PDF).During the closure: Northbound 5th St. traffic will detour east on Elm St. and should use South County Rd. to access Main St.
Southbound 5th St. traffic will detour east on Oak St. and should use 6th St. to reach Main St.Crews will reopen 5th St. by 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, and restore the traffic shift on Main St. to the east side of 5th St.Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternate route in advance. Drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate road closures.
