Vilhauer posts accusation at Hill, with fake / AI photo I hate this garbage. Rod Vilhauer has posted on his social media accounts that fellow mayoral candidate Mark Hill has not paid a $2,500 pledge sponsorship to the Marine Corps League, a non-profit dedicated to serving Marines and their families. Vilhauer writes on social media: "According to the Marine Corps League, Hill committed to the sponsorship, attended the event, and has since ignored repeated attempts to collect payment over the last six months." Vilhauer did not name the contact within the Marine Corps League who was the source for this accusation. Attached to Vilhauer's social media post is an AI or Photoshopped image of an award with Mark Hill's name on it. The faked image includes added text that says: "Sponsorship paid for by Rod Vilhauer for Frisco Mayor -- thank you for supporting Veterans Rod!" The Facebook post did not disclose the image was a fake image, and it was not immediately obvious until the original photo was tracked down and posted for comparison. Photos of the real photo, faked photo, and additional real photo for reference are attached to this post. Vilhauer's FB post with the faked image is here:

@Jjj: I really do not like AI for this reason. It is so hard to determine what is real or not
@funacct :
I have to admit I love AI...but this kind of thing is the worst. And it's only going to get harder and harder to detect in the future...

Was Mark Hill guilty of nonpayment or not? Did Vilhaurer lie about it?That is the question for me. I do not like the AI's either due to the large potential for illusion and error. And it is everywhere in politics, business, entertainment, even religion.

@Jjj :
Thanks. So did Hill pay?
I wonder what the local news media is reporting about the AI. Social media is so full of deceit, especially w AI.
Many 'news' shows do poor investigation before reporting.
Owners should require better better ethics and standards.
Sensationalism profits the owners who reward the their leaders and it gives fertilization to social media.

I would rather this whole string be deleted. It is not helpful in proving anything significant.
@Pecan7 :
Sorry, discussing mayoral candidates and how they behave is a valid part of a local community discussion board… I don't see sensationalism here. I see an unethical use of AI, and potentially a candidate not paying a charitable pledge. Both are valid inquiries for voters before the election.

@Jjj :
Oh yes it is legitimate to post. I am just tired of this string is all.
